Valleviken has one of Gotlands best fishing grounds. Plenty of Salmon, pike, salmon trout, whitefish, perch, flounder, turbot etc. You are accommodated comfortably in a holiday cottage or in the hotel directly at the seaside, close to harbour and restaurant. Gotlands archipelago is just around the corner and is inviting you for exciting discovery tours with a boat.
Do you like to make a boat tour to explore Gotlands fishing grounds? The preferable season for fishing is spring and autumn when the sea is calm and it is possible to go out with the boats. But you can also prove your luck in one of the old limestone quarries or lakes. Salmon and salmon trout are always exciting to catch but you will also find pikes, whitefish, perch, flounder und turbot. Fishing with rod or trolling line might be very fascinating but to catch a flounder or a turbot with a net and to smoke them the gotlandic way is an unforgettable experience as well.
Are you used to handle a boat and a fishing ground most certain you will appreciate some days in Valleviken. You are completely independent, but always have opportunity to ask us for advice i.e. about good fishing grounds or any tourist site. Allow yourself couple of days in freedom and quietness. Sense the smell of the sea and the wind. After a day on the water the self caught fish tastes even better – a piece of true joy of life! Visit our sauna; take a bath in the outdoor tub on the cay and after that jump for refreshment into the crystal clear sea. Or finalize the day at “Sjökrogen´s” cosy and warm environment. Room for conferences up to 50 persons is available and restaurant Sjökrogen is selected as one of “Sveriges bästa bord”.
Schedule: Introduction and instruction, Fishing advices (fishing grounds, accessories) and handover of equipment and boat. Duration approx. 2 hours. After that you decide yourself where to go and what to do.
Fishing season: Salmon Trout: Oct-May, Salmon, almost the whole year, turbot: May-June, pike und perch: start in June (we promote”Catch and release”), Rainbow trout (Bläse Limestone quarry) the whole year, Flounder: starts in late summer.
The food can be prepared in your own kitchen. Barbeque facilities are available at every cottage
Required skills: Experience in handling a boat and knowledge about fishing.
Recommended equipment: Sea- and fishing clothes, fishing equipment. Lifejackets and security equipment are included in the price. Fishing boots can be rented as well as certain fishing items
Conditions for participants: fishing for leisure in the sea is allowed without asking for permission. If you want to go fishing in one of the limestone quarries or the lakes permission is required.
